Former Chelsea captain John Terry admits he was “petrified” of Jose Mourinho when he first rocked up at Stamford Bridge - as were the rest of his team-mates.

Mourinho arrived in west London as a European champion and famously declared himself “The Special One” just a week after guiding Porto to Champions League glory in May 2004.

He certainly backed up his iconic boast; masterminding back-to-back Premier League title wins, two League Cup successes and an FA Cup triumph in his first stint at Stamford Bridge.

The Portuguese developed a close bond with several of his Chelsea players, so close that some were left in tears when he was sacked by Roman Abramovich in 2007.
