John Stamos‘ new memoir, “If You Would Have Told Me,” takes readers on an intimate ride through his life so far — from the way he grew up, to landing his first role, to becoming the world’s most beloved Uncle and becoming a dad for the first time — and everything in-between.
The book includes laugh-out-loud stories as well as heartbreaking accounts of loss. Additionally, Stamos revealed for the first time that he was sexually abused as a child by his 18- or 19-year-old babysitter, something he’s now also opened up about via Instagram. “About five years ago, I was writing out a speech that I was going to make at a Child Help charity and I started writing and all of a sudden it just came back.
Just like flooded me with a crystal clear vision of what happened back then and I was like — it was very unsettling. And I thought, ‘Well, should I talk about it in my speech?
