He has now spoken about how watching his dad struggle with his addiction helped him and his brother Nikki, 36, choose a different "destiny" and fall in love with fitness.
Joe has spoken to Russell Brand on his Under The Skin podcast, where he said: "Because of my dad's addiction, and the damage I saw that cause, me and Nikki steered clear of it. "We weren't smoking weed, we were training, exercising and playing sport.
