RTÉ presenter Keelin Shanley’s untimely passing from cancer at 51 shocked the nation last month. Those closest to her are understandably still coming to terms with their devastating loss including her co-anchor Claire Byrne.
Opening up about the sense of grief felt across the newsroom in recent weeks Claire admitted that it has been a tough time for everyone. ‘It was particularly difficult on the day of the election results,’ she told Dublin Live this week.
Everybody came in and all of our colleagues in the make-up room and everyone on cameras, everybody was affected,’ she admitted. ‘So it is very recent and people are still grieving at RTÉ.
