Conspiracy theorists who believe coronavirus is a hoax are just finding a way to deal with their own anxiety and insecurities - but they are putting others’ lives at risk, according to psychologists.

Recent weeks have seen increasing cases of Covid deniers breaking lockdown rules or even entering hospitals to film inside wards or confront medical staff with their views.

At least seven people have been arrested or fined after getting in to as many as a dozen hospitals in an attempt to prove coronavirus doesn’t exist.

Last month conspiracy theorist, Hannah Dean, was fined £200 for uploading pictures of empty corridors inside several hospitals, posting “I know this is hard to get our heads around, but the government are lying to us!” And
