The two apparently shared a very close relationship, with Tate appearing to provide wisdom to the hip-hop star on a variety of occasions.Beverly Tate was ordained as a minister in 2005, with it understood that Snoop was brought up in a firmly Christian home.
It was while he was growing up that his mother, thinking her son reminded her of a particular cartoon dog, began calling him Snoopy.
