dog had to have her eye removed after being dragged 50metres along the road by a van in a hit-and-run.Angel, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, was on a walk with her owner when she was struck by a van.The nine-year-old dog, who was on a lead, was dragged about 50metres along the road in Herne Hill, south London.She miraculously survived but was left badly injured from the collision at 11.15pm on New Year’s Eve last year.The pooch suffered a serious head injury and needed surgery to remove her left eye.Scotland Yard said the van driver did not stop at the scene and drove off.The Staffie and her owner were both wearing hi-viz jackets at the time.Police have now launched an appeal and are desperate to speak to witnesses.Officers are also seeking.
