Jurors have retired to consider their verdicts in the trial of Christopher Anthony Howe, who stands accused of wounding Reddish man Paul Norton in the arm and face with a knife in Reddish Vale Country Park.
Mr Howe, of no fixed abode, later ran from police after being approached in the park - even wading through a river to escape officers.
The 33-year-old was photographed running by Hayley Gibson, who was in the park with her family and later submitted the image to police.
