Covid, I used to watch from the window as Richard visited our local deli – a bazaar full of the most enticing jars and freshly baked goods, housed in a very old building with hefty stone steps that made access impossible.
But during lockdown it started doing deliveries and the Scandinavian rye bread and fresh pasta came to me, and made lockdown a little bit better.As the weeks passed, and other people learnt to crochet and got to grips with sourdough starters, I was amazed by how quickly the world was forced to adapt to the restrictions I face on a daily basis.
