The Sun on Sunday told last week how the mum of three, who is worth an estimated £8million together with her popstar husband Tom, had claimed up to £30,000 for her business just weeks after her jungle triumph saw her earning potential skyrocket.

WalesOnline has reported that the famous couple had allegedly received up to £30,000 from the government furlough scheme not long after Giovanna was crowned Queen of the Castle for the 2020 series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, which took place at Gwrych Castle in Conwy. On Tuesday, the pair issued the same statement on their Instagram accounts and apologised that they used the furlough scheme but denied the figure claimed was for £30,000.

The couple described their decision to use the government's coronavirus job retention scheme as a "huge error of judgement" and apologised. Author Giovanna, 36, and Tom, 35, issued a joint statement on Tuesday, apologising for the move though insisting the financial figures reported were incorrect.

Giovanna Fletcher have apologised for using the government furlough scheme despite their estimated joint worth being £8m. Giovanna, who won I’m a Celebrity last year, and McFly star Tom issued the apology after reports emerged that they had received up to £30,000 from the scheme.
