Newcastle fans are dreaming of what might be with a takeover of the club seemingly becoming a reality. On Tuesday owner Mike Ashley entered into a charge agreement with potential buyer Amanda Staveley.
Financier Staveley is leading a bid which involves Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund and the Reuben Brothers. The sovereign wealth fund is headed Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, who is reported to be worth close to £7billion.
The bid is believed to be for close to £300million and if accepted it would end Ashley’s 13 year tenure at St James Park. Toon fans could be forgiven for not getting too excited, after all, they have been in this situation before.
