Kate Middleton and Prince William's shared competitive streak is doing wonders for their relationship, an expert says. From a young age both Kate and William excelled in their sporting pursuits.
During their school days, Kate was captain of her hockey team at Marlborough and took part in rowing and netball. William played rugby and football for Eton and shone at swimming and cross country.
When the couple met at St Andrew’s University, Kate was in the tennis and swimming teams while William played polo and also swam.
Indeed, the first time the Duke and Duchess were pictured as a couple was on a skiing trip to the Swiss resort of Klosters in 2004.
