Marvel comics for years and finally she is making her Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut.She isn’t getting the big screen treatment though, but rather her own series on Disney+, expanding the already enormous back-catalogue of superhero content on the platform.Audiences will be unfamiliar with the character, as her bigger cousin has always overshadowed her in live action, so here is everything you need to know before the premiere.She-Hulk follows Jennifer Walters as she balances her up-and-coming law career with her reluctant foray into the superhero world when she becomes the titular character.She first appeared in 1980, in The Savage She-Hulk volume one, and her popularity on the page has skyrocketed since.One of her defining qualities is her Deadpool-style fourth wall-breaking quips as she is aware of the reader/viewer.Jennifer isn’t as strong as the Hulk, though what separated her from Bruce in the comics was her ability to retain her intelligence when she transforms.However, since Hulk has been intelligent while in his big-green mode since Avengers: Endgame, it is less clear how the two are distinct in the MCU.Fans have been praying for a World War Hulk adaptation for years, with many hoping the new series will see the green goliath return to his out-of-control rage by the end.There is a deluge of Marvel shows and films right now, with more content in Phase Four than phases one, two and three combined, and it isn't even over yet.It can make the timeline less clear, as films such as Black Widow jump around across the established sequence of events.In an interview with TVLine, She-Hulk head writer and executive producer Jessica Gao clarified where it fits into the timeline.She explained that it’s “not too far”.
