Survivors of the coronavirus in Manchester are being asked to donate plasma - to help save other lives. Their potentially antibody-rich plasma can be transfused into seriously ill people who are still struggling to develop an immune response to the illness.
It is being collected in Manchester, Birmingham, and London, as part of a trial. If successful the scheme will be spread nationwide.
NHS Blood and Transplant is seeking interest from people who have recovered from the disease and who are also able to travel to one of two donor centres in the city.
