The search for beloved ITV personality Dr Michael Mosley continues without success, as Greek officials sombrely set a deadline amid rising fears that the intense heatwave may have overcome him.

The mayor of Symi, Eleftherios Papakalodoukas, where the This Morning health expert disappeared, suggested that Dr Mosley may have been affected by dehydration due to soaring temperatures reaching 35C.

Mayor Papakalodoukas pointed to the dangerous nature of Dr Mosley's hiking route, marked by "very high cliffs" and rough landscape, which could have posed considerable hazards, particularly without adequate hydration, and the risk of fainting would have been significantly higher.

As the hunt enters a critical stage, authorities have pledged another five days of extensive search operations, after which the situation will need to be reassessed, depending on additional support from either Greek or UK entities, as he expressed to LBC.
