Detectives have launched an urgent investigation but thankfully, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed no one was hurt during the incident in Cheadle Hulme.
Images from the scene on Worcester Road on Sunday night show the store sealed off by police tape. Two evidence markers were positioned on the ground outside as forensic investigators in white suits assessed the scene.
GMP said officers were called at 5.40pm on Sunday to reports of an attempted robbery. The force said a group of men entered the store and a firearm was subsequently discharged.
