Greater Manchester is in the midst of a shoplifting epidemic... and in one town, it's 'absolutely rife'

"The other week two girls came in and in three minutes they took about £100 of stuff - things like candles, Dove soap," he said. "Then last Saturday four lads came in and basically did a full shop from all around the store.

Offences recorded by police in England and Wales rose by 25% in the past year, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics.
