Enjoying a festive day out is a key part of the run up to Christmas for many. Grand country houses are always popular to visit at this time of year as they go all out with spectacular decorations and guarantee a magical atmosphere.
This year Lyme Park is inviting visitors of all ages to immerse themselves in the festivities and step into a different world.
Until December 24 Lyme is hosting Animal Crackers Christmas, an imaginary world where animals have taken over the building. In this quirky installation, families can walk from room to room looking out for a host of festive creatures and collect any miss-laid eggs, relax with cows and enjoy karaoke with badgers.
At the same time, take in the beautiful traditional Christmas decorations inside the house. It takes place every day from 11am to 3pm and is free to attend, although admission charges apply for the venue.
