A grandmother claims her glass Argos table "exploded" in last week's heatwave. Julie Jones, from Liverpool, almost had a panic attack as the garden furniture suddenly shattered before eyes.

Footage showed the Argos Home Sicily six seater - that set her back £200 - hissing as it lay in pieces in her garden. Argos have said the 'exploding' table is 'an isolated incident'.

Her daughter said Julie was mowing the grass last Thursday as temperatures soared to 31C when the table suddenly exploded out of nowhere.

The 51-year-old's table was left shattered into small pieces. Pictures show the table smashed to bits with the central glass pane completely broken.
