Gossip Girl fans will be over the moon to hear the show is having a reboot to celebrate the launch of HBO's new streaming service, HBO Max. The show is due to launch in May 2020 and will run 10-episodes but it is not yet clear what date in May it will premiere. Kristen Bell is returning to the show to narrate while rising actress Emily Alyn Lind will star as the show's lead. The producers have revealed the reboot will also have "a lot of queer content" and "non-white leads", which the original has been slammed for not incorporating. I know, I know—it's hard to imagine Gossip Girl without the OG cast. Like, we totally understand the simple mention of the return of Gossip Girl is reason enough to pour yourself a mimosa (or have Dorota pour one for you), there’s also a strong possibility that not everybody would be down. The new iteration of “Gossip Girl” at HBO Max is continuing to build out its main cast.

Good news, Upper Eastsiders. It looks like the Gossip Girl reboot has found it’s leading ladies.

Last year, news broke out that Gossip Girl was getting a Reboot version with a brand new cast! While we now have to say goodbye to Blair Waldorf, Serena Van Der Woodsen, Dan Humphrey, Chuck Bass and Nate Archibald, we will also be introduced to brand new characters from the Upper East Side. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the makers have now tapped five young actors as the new age S & B's of the world. Emily Alyn Lind, Whitney Peak, Eli Brown, Johnathan Fernandez and Jason Gotay are the ones who are going to take the legacy of Gossip Girl forward!

There’s one HBO Max series whose cast is growing pretty quick, XOXO Gossip Girl.

Emily Alyn Lind is set to join the Upper East Siders in the upcoming reboot of Gossip Girl.The 19-year-old actress, who was born in Brooklyn, New York, will play a lead character in the series named Audrey, Deadline reports.Rising star Emily, who has previously starred in Code Black, The Babysitter and Doctor Sleep, is the first cast member to be confirmed for the reboot.
