Golden Balls contestant who had £100,000 stolen from under his nose on the ITV game show has admitted the cash would have saved him from a tragic debt spiral.
Stephen Bushnall appeared on the show back in 2008 for another go at the cash jackpot, after initially losing out in the final a year before.
He faced off with contestant Sarah in a tense showdown in which they both emotionally agreed to split the money down the middle - but Sarah instead chose to steal, taking the total sum of £100,150 all for herself.Stephen explained she was quickly whisked away after the show, and he never heard from her - or received a single penny of the winnings - afterwards, though he admitted she was "just playing the game".Now Stephen, who moonlights as a spiritualist medium outside of his regular role in customer service - which he was made redundant from just last month - has spoken exclusively to Daily Star about what he would have done with the money. He explained: "I had quite a bit of debt at the time, so about £15,000-£16,000 of it would have paid off all my debts.
It would have put me out of debt, and it would have put me a few months ahead on bills."The star continued: "At that point I had a couple of kids, so I probably would’ve spent the money on my kids and my mam.
