A young girl whose parents offered her surrogate mum almost £8,000 [$10,000] to have an abortion after an ultrasound showed she had birth defects has died days after her eighth birthday.
Tragic Seraphina Harrell was born after Crystal Kelley - who agreed to carry the infant for her biological parents - refused to have a termination in 2012 in a landmark case.
When the dispute turned ugly Crystal moved from Connecticut to Michigan in the US - where state law meant she could be recognised as Seraphina's legal parent.
The little girl was born with a rare condition called heterotaxy syndrome, which meant internal organs such as her stomach and liver were in the wrong place.
