The schoolgirl - who is yet to be formally named - died following a "serious incident" on Friday around midday in Ynyswen, Rhondda Cynon Taf near Treorchy, South Wales Police confirmed.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident in Baglan Street and are currently in hospital receiving treatment.
A huge number of emergency teams worked through the afternoon following initial reports, with a forensics tent erected outside the Blue Sky Chinese takeaway and the road shut off.
