Popstar Gary Barlow has won a bat-tle to build a garage for his fleet of luxury cars. The Back for Good singer faced opposition from conservationists to convert part of his £6million Cotswolds home – because a pair of pipistrelles nested in the roof.

But he’s been given the go-ahead after a bat expert spent time at his country house monitoring the mammals’ movements. All the multi-millionaire has to do is pay £130 for a bat disruption licence and ensure the bats are “not harmed during works”.

Gary, 49, and wife Dawn, 48, will also have to make sure the pair at their mansion in Alvescot, Oxfordshire, have a replacement home.
