The Garrihy family has shared a beautiful tribute to the people of Italy for giving Ireland time to learn from their experience of the pandemic and save lives as a result.
The moving spoken-word piece was written by Eugene Garrihy, the father of Aoibhín, Ailbhe and Doireann. His eldest daughter Aoibhín read his powerful words which thanked the people of Italy for saving countless Irish lives as we learned what to do to lessen the tragedy of the pandemic as it arrived on Irish shores shortly after theirs.
Last week, our Dad said that he felt compelled to thank the people of Italy. He said he could “get nothing done” until he put pen to paper.
