Arsenal caretaker manager Freddie Ljungberg has questioned the decision to bring Martin Odegaard to the club.Odegaard headed to the Emirates on loan from Real Madrid in January and has been a regular under Mikel Arteta.He earned a place in Arsenal fans’ hearts by netting against fierce rivals Tottenham in Sunday’s Premier League clash.Though Ljungberg, who took charge between Unai Emery’s sacking and Arteta’s appointment late in 2019, has admitted his surprise at the signing.
Asked on Sky Sports whether he was surprised, Ljungberg said: “Yes, I’m a little bit like – Odegaard is a great player, don’t get me wrong – if you have a young players in the same kind of position that you want to develop, you take someone on loan, that you don’t have.
