Harvey Weinstein

Harvey Weinstein CBE (born March 19, 1952) is an American former film producer. He and his brother Bob Weinstein co-founded the entertainment company Miramax, which produced several successful independent films, including Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989), The Crying Game (1992), Pulp Fiction (1994), Heavenly Creatures (1994), Flirting with Disaster (1996), and Shakespeare in Love (1998).

Weinstein won an Academy Award for producing Shakespeare in Love, and garnered seven Tony Awards for a variety of plays and musicals, including The Producers, Billy Elliot the Musical, and August: Osage County. After leaving Miramax, Weinstein and his brother Bob founded The Weinstein Company, a mini-major film studio. He was co-chairman, alongside Bob, from 2005 to 2017.

Four more women accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault

Harvey Weinstein has been accused by four more women of sexual assault, as he serves a 23-year prison sentence for rape. The disgraced producer has now been accused of assaulting three women and a teen, who was 17 at the time, between 1984 and 2013, allegedly some after meetings with Weinstein at the Cannes and Venice Film Festivals.

In court documents filed in New York this week by Jane Doe I, Jane Doe II, Jane Doe III and Jane Doe IV, one anonymous accuser, known as Jane Doe II in the suit, claimed she was only 17 when Weinstein ‘falsely imprisoned, sexually assaulted, sexually battered and raped her’ in 1994.

According to the suit, the Tennessee woman claimed Weinstein asked her to his hotel room to discuss her prospective entertainment
