Former US Vice President Joe Biden has denied claims he sexually assaulted a woman in the early 1990s. Tara Reade, who worked as a staff assistant in Biden's Senate office from December 1992 to August 1993, has accused Biden of pinning her against a wall in 1993, reaching under her skirt and pushing his fingers inside her.
Giving an interview to US media while self isolating at home, presidential hopeful Biden addressed the claims publicly for the first time. "No, it is not true," he told MSNBC. "I'm saying unequivocally it never, never happened." Ms Reade was one of eight women who last year came forward to say Democrat Biden had hugged, kissed or touched them in ways that made them uncomfortable, though none accused him of sexual assault.
