As mask wearing requirements have tightened, so have complaints about people not following the rules – along with confusion over some of the contradictions in the advice.

In fact, we've had more than 2,000 complaints specifically about face masks from members of the public through Resolver since lockdown, with numbers increasing significantly in July as new restrictions begin.

With face covering becoming compulsory in a string of new locations this weekend,  things are set to get even more tense in the days and weeks to come.
