Drinkers in Tier 2 areas coronavirus restrictions hit the town yesterday night after lockdown ended this week. Revellers were pictured outside bars and in the street as they enjoyed their first Friday night out in a month.
But while boozers in England were allowed to have drinks until late in the evening, bars and pubs in Wales had to close at 6pm.
Under new Covid-19 measures, Welsh hospitality venues can serve alcohol until 6pm, after which they can only operate as takeaway.
In England, under Tier 1 restrictions people can meet indoors and outdoors in groups of maximum six people. However in Tier 2 it is only possible to eat and drink inside hospitality venues with people from the same household.
