Fiona Apple has announced her first album in eight years. Fetch the Bolt Cutters is getting a digital release on April 17. She announced the release date in the video below, which was shared via the Fiona Apple Rocks Tumblr page.
That account often posts personal video messages from Apple (including a recent one where she hinted that she was thinking about releasing the album “really soon”). (Apple’s representative confirmed the release date.) The album marks her first full-length release since 2012’s The Idler Wheel..., which itself was her first album in seven years.
She recently revealed a bunch of titles from the new album in an interview where she discussed its creation. Apple has been teasing new music for the past year.
