In an extensive and wide-ranging new interview with The New Yorker’s Emily Nussbaum, Fiona Apple shared details of her long-awaited new album.
The record is called Fetch the Bolt Cutters, and it consists of 13 songs whose titles include “Newspaper,” “On I Go,” “The Drumset Is Gone,” “Rack of His,” “Kick Me Under the Table,” “Ladies,” “For Her,” “Fetch the Bolt Cutters,” “Shameka,” “Heavy Balloon,” and “I Want You to Love Me.” In the profile, the new album is described as sounding “raw” and “percussion-heavy,” with a focus on drums, chants, and bells.
