Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson Hon FRIBA (born 19 June 1964) is a British politician, writer, and former journalist serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since 2019. He was Foreign Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Johnson was Member of Parliament for Henley from 2001 to 2008 and has been MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Ideologically, Johnson identifies as a one-nation conservative.

Prime Minister announced last night that all schools and colleges will close to the vast majority of pupils from today as learning goes online due to England's new national lockdown.

It means all but the children of key workers and vulnerable children are now at home - the same arrangement imposed when the first national lockdown was announced in March.The announcement has thrown the lives of many working parents into turmoil - not least because it was only on Sunday when Boris Johnson declared schools safe and urged parents to send their children back after the Christmas break.For many the term lasted just one day, while others who weren't due back until later this week, never entered the classroom at all.
