Fawlty Towers has become one of the latest in a list of comedy shows once deemed as classics that have been removed from air.

The 1970s sitcom has often been hailed as one of the best of all time but UKTV, which is owned by the BBC, has removed 'The Germans' due to "racial slurs." The Beeb have said that the episode has been 'made temporarily unavailable' while it carries out a review.

The episode first aired in 1975 and sees John Cleese's misanthropic hotel owner Basil Fawlty goose-stepping around while shouting "don't mention the war" in front of a group of visiting Germans.
