Johannes, 34, first joined Strictly in 2018 and had always been partnered up with female celebs – until this year. In the wake of the pair’s success on Strictly, fans of the show have taken to social media to applaud them.
John, 32, and Johannes came in second behind Giovanni Pernice, 31, and EastEnders actor Rose Ayling-Ellis, 27. One person wrote of this year's final: “Never been a more deserving winner than @RoseAylingEllis.
