Bethesda Support has today confirmed that Fallout 76 has been taken offline for some inpromtu server maintenance. The game was taken offlline for all platforms (PS4, Xbox One and PC) at 5pm BST and is likely due to be kept offline for several hours as the developers undertake some essential maintenance.

We assume its essential since the game was taken offline with no prior warning. Announcing the maintenance period, the @BethesdaSupport Twitter account also avoiding explaining why they needed to take the game offline, simply tweeting: "@Fallout 76 is undergoing maintenance on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One" and a link to Bethesda Support's website, which also gave no clear details on why the game needed to go offline.
