Earlier this evening, at around 6pm, police attended at Media City UK and Salford Quays to reports of disorder. Shortly before, it was reported that a group of around 40 to 50 kids aged between nine and 13 were jumping into the water.
Then 'all of a sudden' five older men began 'punching each other' and 'knocking kids down to the floor', an eyewitness has said.
After a PCSO arrived, they radioed for backup and 'within minutes', police vans and cars arrived on both sides of the Quays.
