The UK is set to see the return of a scorching heatwave soon, with temperatures to soar once again from next month. Preliminary data from forecasters at the Met Office show that June has been the hottest month in the UK ever, with more warm weather to come, reports the Mirror.
There have been long spells of scorching temperatures and clear skies throughout the month, reaching into the 30Cs in Scotland in June.However, typical British weather returned and heavy showers hit, with more storms to come this week alongside milder temperatures.However, with July just around the corner, forecasters are predicting yet another heatwave for the UK.
This new heatwave is predicted to even beat 2022's record-breaking temperature in Lincolnshire of 40.3C. In Scotland, the hottest ever temperature was 34.8C recorded in the Borders in 2022.
Scotland recorded its hottest day of 2023 in June in Dumfries and Galloway, which reached 30.7C.The Met Office said indications for "above-average temperatures are stronger" from July 12 to July 26.
