The Met Office has given its verdict on whether the UK could see a summer heatwave amid what has so far been a wet and drizzly July.
The chances of another heatwave this year already appear to be over, the Met Office believe, despite parts of southern Europe sweltering in almost 50C heat.
But Meteorologists say there is no sign of the Cerberus heatwave arriving here in the UK, with the rest of July predicted to be unsettled with frequent showers, reports the Mirror. August looks like starting in the same vein with extended periods of showery weather or more prolonged rain as low-pressure systems continue to move near the UK.
It comes just a day after the Met Office issued thunderstorm weather warnings for parts of the north west, with scattered showers expected in Manchester into the next week.
