Some parts of Scotland may be battered by thunderstorms and lashings of rain this weekend, the Met Office has warned. Certain areas of the country have been placed under a weather alert for storms, and people have been warned that the adverse weather conditions may result in issues like flooding and delays to public transport.
It comes after an unusually hot June, with several weather records for high temperatures being broken over the course of last month.
There is also a possibility that lightning strikes could cause damage to some buildings, so people are being urged to take extra care whilst out and about.
