Champions League return dwarfs the early stats of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The 20-year-old Norwegian has gone from strength-to-strength since swapping Red Bull Salzburg for Borussia Dortmund last January - scoring 33 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions.
Of those goals, eight have come in just six Champions League outings, which have been added to his eight goals in six appearances in the competition for his former club last season.That brings his overall tally to 16 goals in 12 games, which is 16 more than Ronaldo managed.
The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and current Juventus forward, who also scored in the competition on Tuesday, failed to score in his opening 12 matches.
