Independent game company Manticore Games has raised $15 million in funding led by Fortnite developer Epic Games. The funds will accelerate the San Mateo-based Manticore's video game creation platform, Core, which launched in open alpha mode back in March with a mission to make game design more accessible and foster collaboration.
The platform, which allows anyone with a PC to build, share, publish and play games, includes a variety of game genres, including role-playing, adventure, massively multiplayer online, survival, shooters, puzzle and music games.In July, Manticore Gamesunveiled a $1 million dollar pilot program to pay developers through Core.
