Pictures show Bluewater shopping centre in Kent, completely empty less than 24 hours after shoppers descended on the complex in a last-minute buying frenzy, described as 'shopmageddon'.
Lakeside Shopping Centre, in Grays, Essex, was also deserted today, despite Christmas being just days away. The eerie photographs are in stark contrast to pictures of packed high streets in other parts of the country.
