The Manchester Evening News reported last night how travellers found themselves stuck in lines snaking around Terminal 2 on Saturday.
Some passengers said they were waiting as long as two hours to get through Passport Control which is run by UK Border Force.
Pictures showed luggage piling up on the floor and conveyor belts overflowing as a knock-on effect. Similar problems hit Heathrow airport where there was also a lack of immigration staff.
