Recovering addicts in Irvine put on an inspiring showcase expressing their harrowing battles to recovery.The group of 15 performed their show 'Stereotypes' at the Vineburgh Community Centre on Wednesday, December 8.And they have high hopes to take the show on tour and ultimately play at next year's Fringe Festival.The brave men and women spent the past 10 weeks with the Helping Hands programme to build their confidence.One 52-year-old man read a poem about his struggles of abusing drugs from 15-years-old until he ultimately slipped into a coma.Another woman spoke about her motherhood journey and how it took her child being removed from her care to get sober.And a registered nurse who was addicted for 14-years broke the stigma surrounding
