It proved to be a vital moment as title rivals Chelsea and Liverpool also won later on, both also via penalties. Sterling was not the only City player to join a 100 club, though.
Indeed, goalkeeper Ederson has now kept 100 clean sheets for the Premier League champions since a £36million switch from Benfica in 2017.
