EastEnders star Melanie Clark Pullen has died aged 46.The star, who is best known for playing Pauline Fowler's niece in the Walford soap, was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2019, and underwent rounds of radiotherapy in a bid to best the disease.She sadly died on March 29th 2022, despite being given the all-clear from breast cancer in 2020, explaining to The Irish News: "I got the all clear.

I'm cancer free, which is great, so now it's all about recovery."But in June 2021, the tragic star was diagnosed with a brain tumour.She leaves behind her husband Simon and their three children.Melanie continued to update her fans on her battle with the tumour, with her last update coming on March 14 2022.She had travelled to visit family, including her dad's new pooch, and shared a series of snaps together with the caption: "Flying visit to Bray over the weekend to see my family and meet Dad’s new furry companion Bear."Melanie was best known for her role as Mary Flaherty in the BBC soap EastEnders, after Pauline Fowler discovered she had a sister in Ireland and flew over to meet her.Melanie's character Mary later moved to Walford and enjoyed a close relationship with her on-screen sister.She eventually left the soap in 1999 after two years - but went on to appear in everything from Casualty and Doctors to A Dinner of Herbs.Melanie’s last role came in 2021, playing the part of Eileen in This Way Up.Speaking in February, things seemed to be looking up for the actress after she initially lost her appetite - and had been discussing new treatment options.She wrote on Instagram: "Got out for a decent walk for the first time in weeks.
