EastEnders fans were surprised to see the actor who plays Arthur Fowler suddenly replaced by a new kid.Arthur - the son of Kush Kazemi and Stacey Slater - has been quietly recast after six years.

The BBC character was originally played by child actor Hunter Bell but the role has now been taken over by Rocco Brennan.Rocco made his debut by getting crushed on a bouncy castle by Jean Slater, but the soap has made no mention of Arthur's changing face.

Arthur was seen holding his arm and squealing: "Nanny Jean did it," after she set up a massive inflatable in the market for the children to play on and then joined in.

The changing in casting did not escape eagle-eyed viewers though as they took to social media to comment on the sudden change of character. One said on Twitter: "Poor Arthur, first he gets recast then hurt."Another asked: "Did the kid playing Arthur change during the same episode?"Hunter played Arthur - named after the original Arthur Fowler played by Bill Treacher, 91 - for six years and was quick to welcome the newcomer on his Instagram account, managed by his parents.
