Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will give people in the final year of their lives fast-tracked access to benefits under changes to the rules for terminally ill claimants.

The move will ensure that people in the final year of their life will receive vital financial support quicker than they can do at present and at the highest rate through revised Special Rules for Terminal Illness - previously the rules were only in place for those with six months or less to live.
