Drivers warned to be vigilant over 'fake DVLA emails' on car tax refunds

Sign up today for the best stories straight to your inboxGreater Manchester Police has issued a warning to motorists about a new DVLA vehicle tax email scam.Last weekend, around 214 reports were received which told drivers their vehicle "is no longer taxed".The fake email warns motorists they face a £380 fine if they do not tax their vehicle.It comes with a clickable button where drivers can "Manage My Vehicle TAX" which takes motorists to a fake site.Then it asks motorists to reveal their personal information.The City of London Police issued the warning which has been endorsed by Action Fraud as being a fake text.There are typos and incorrect spellings in the email which make it likely to be.
